It features a beautiful, black anodized finish, angled marking disc for easy viewing, quick-release mounting bracket and positional witness mark. Most importantly: it’s reversible. The Petroff Mini Follow Focus utilizes an ingenious design that makes it very quick to install and position– on either side of the lens. Clip the Petroff Mini Follow focus onto your standard 15mm lightweight rods, slide the unit’s follow focus gear up to the gear on the lens’ focus barrel, and you are ready to go. An even more ingenious design enables this Mini Follow Focus to reverse the direction of the drive gear. Simply loosen one screw and rotate the drive gear mechanism 180° to reverse the direction of the Mini Follow Focus’ gear– eliminating the need for a reversing gear when using lenses like those made by Nikon, Tamron and Tokina whose focus barrels turn the opposite direction of traditional cinematography lenses. Ask any camera assistant what it’s like trying to pull focus on a lens that rotates opposite of what assistants are accustomed to, and they will tell you that this feature alone makes the Petroff Mini Follow Focus the one to buy.
