History
After
nearly 15 years of being in the business of selling reconditioned
equipment for the film and video industry, you would
think everyone would know who and where we are. These
years have seen Visual Products grow to become the largest
reseller of its kind. But occasionally, we will get a
phone call from a new customer who will ask where we
are located. Naturally, they think we are somewhere in
New York or Los Angeles. Most are surprised to find out
we are in Ohio. Usually, the next question is “how
does a company that sells camera gear end up in Ohio?” Sometimes
we like to respond, “because it’s the epicenter
of the Entertainment World, haven’t you heard?” But
it is a fair question: How did Visual Products end up “selling
cameras from a cornfield?”
Visual
Products founder, Jim Budzilek, a lifetime resident of
Ohio, started the company back in 1989. Jim realized
that the physical location of the company wasn’t
important. What was important was providing customers
with quality equipment and great service. With Fedex,
UPS, the internet and an international airport within
twenty miles, Jim Budzilek found that he could remain
in his home state of Ohio and build his business. Ohio
is a place where you can deal with friendly people, have
a high quality-of-life and still get what you pay for.
That’s how Visual Products came to be in Ohio.
